Electra100 Robotic Detail Pavement Marking System
The Electra100 robotic detail pavement marking system brings improved safety, higher road crew productivity and precision to detail pavement markings. Electra enables a single operator to paint detailed marking applications with no manual layout, no stencils, no preforms, no burners. The road worker never gets out of the truck cab. Instead, using advanced positioning technology and the real-time control of the system operator, Electra positions the MUTCD symbol easily in the right place and then paints it. The pavement symbol meets industry standards every time.
No chalk and string. No stencils. No 450 degree materials. And, most importantly, no boots on the ground.
IMPROVED WORKER SAFETY
Road crews are removed from active roadways. The single operator stays safely in the truck cab during all aspects of the application. The system can layout the spacing and location of symbols and paint them all from the computer touchscreen in the truck cab. Even paint clogs do not need manual attention – the Reverse-A-Clean tip flipper clears the clog with the touch of a button.
INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY
Layout is fast. The software makes it easy for a road worker to center transverse symbols within and across lanes. Stop lines and other symbols are lined up across as many lanes as is needed.
Painting is fast. A turn arrow takes less than 3 minutes to paint.
The system only needs one operator inside the truck, freeing up other traditional method crew members for other work.
INCREASED PRECISION
The MUTCD standard symbol library means that symbols are painted to the standard every time.
Do you need more or less thickness? The system allows for the operator to choose the wet film thickness and the bead dispersion for each symbol painted.
And, the system is so easy to learn and to use that a novice painter can paint like a professional in less than 2 days.
Work at night? Layout and painting can be done in the dark.
MARKING MATERIALS
The robotic detail pavement marking system uses waterborne latex traffic paints, solvent-based acrylic traffic paints and chalk based temporary marking paints.
The standard Graco airless painting equipment means that if you have used it with your Graco painting equipment in the past, you
can use it with our robotic painting system.
Durable paints that have been shown to be the equal or superior of thermoplastic are also compatible. Dow DuraTrack-based paints (a hybrid epoxy) like AquaTough by Aexcel are compatible with the system.
RELIABLE
The system is built to last: a Ford F550 is modified with a metal reinforced bed to which an industrial-grade robot built for 24/7 duty cycles is mounted.
The painting components are professional-grade Graco equipment.
The cab mounted computer and touchscreen are industrial-grade to withstand “life on the road”.
The system is equipped with 12 industrial batteries that are continuously charged by the truck engine in order to keep you working.
EASY TO LEARN & USE
The easy to understand computer interface has been described by road workers as “As easy to use as your cell phone” and “It is like playing a video game.”
Road workers learn to paint quickly, accurately and confidently in less than 2 days of training.
